About the Event:
Jack Seijo (he/they) is an actor and teaching artist based in Chicago. Since moving to the city in 2015, he's had the privilege of working with companies like A Red Orchid Theatre, Midsommer Flight, and Redtwist Theatre where they received a Jeff nomination for their performance in Isaac's Eye (2022). Jack currently plays Paramedic Jack on Chicago Med, and last year, appeared in two feature films as well as two short films. When they're not acting, you can catch them teaching at The Forge and Paramount School of the Arts. Read more on their website: www.jackieseijo.com.
What you will learn at this workshop:
- Self-tape set-ups; work with what you got!
- Framing and practicality
- Overview of casting process
- Types of TV/film auditions
- Editing 101; literally don't overthink it
- Doing actions in a self-tape (you have to kick someone, get beat up, wield a weapon)
- Giving those newer to TV/Film a chance to learn all the basics they need and the veterans to get their reps in and hone their current skill set when it comes to self-taping.
This workshop is March 9th from 11am-3pm.
Students please bring sides to do a practice self tape with, 2-3 pages.
